A Night Behind Bars at Shepton Mallet Prison

One of the oldest standing prisons in the UK, closed its doors to convicts in 2013, however, we are offering you the general public a once in a life time opportunity to sleep within the 75ft walls of the prison…


  • 7.30pm gates open

  • A short briefing will take place in visits

  • Visitors will choose or be shown to their cell

  • Dinner will be served

  • 10.30pm you will go on a tour

  • 12.30am you will return to wings and be left to your own devises, can you sleep?

  • Breakfast will be served 

  • 7.30am you will be free go

  • Wear comfortable clothes and sensible shoes

  • You will need to bring a roll mat or airbed, sleeping bag and pillows, and a torch we will provide bed frames and cell floors

  • Alcohol and drugs are not allowed to be brought to this event, people arriving under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be permitted to enter and will not receive a refund.
